Occupied Jerusalem, May 7 (SANA) Israeli forces continued raids, arrests and road closures across the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem on Thursday, according to Palestinian media reports.
Palestine’s WAFA news agency said a Palestinian man was wounded by live fire overnight near the town of al-Ram, north of Jerusalem.
Israeli forces carried out raids and arrest campaigns in several areas of the West Bank from the early hours of Thursday, detaining 14 young men in the towns of Azzun, east of Qalqilya, and Habla south of the city after searching and vandalizing several homes.
Additional arrests were reported in Askar refugee camp east of Nablus, Wadi Rahhal south of Bethlehem and Yatta south of Hebron.
Local activists said Israeli forces entered the town of Beit Ummar, north of Hebron, accompanied by a bulldozer and sealed entrances with earth mounds, isolating thousands of residents and blocking several internal roads. No arrests were reported during that raid.
Meanwhile, dozens of Israeli settlers entered the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque under Israeli police protection and carried out provocative rituals.
Earlier this week, the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission said Israeli forces and settlers carried out 1,637 attacks against Palestinians during April, describing the incidents as part of an ongoing escalation targeting Palestinian communities and property.
