Doha, April 29 (SANA) Qatar’s Cabinet on Wednesday welcomed the outcome of talks between Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Syria’s President Ahmad al-Sharaa, which focused on strengthening bilateral relations and reviewing regional and international developments.
In a statement carried by the Qatar News Agency (QNA), the Cabinet said the discussions contributed to advancing ties and expanding cooperation across a range of sectors in line with shared interests.
President al-Sharaa met the Qatari Emir in Doha last week, where the two sides discussed ways to develop relations, particularly in the economic and investment fields, and to enhance trade links between the two countries.
In a post on X, President al-Sharaa said the meeting reflected a high level of mutual understanding and opened broader prospects for cooperation, especially in energy, investment and trade. He reiterated Syria’s solidarity with Qatar in the face of threats to its security and sovereignty.
