Jeddah, April 28 (SANA) Gulf leaders convened a consultative summit in Jeddah on Tuesday, chaired by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, to enhance coordination and address the security and economic repercussions of the ongoing regional crisis.
The Gulf Cooperation Council summit brought together leaders and heads of delegations to discuss recent regional and international developments, focusing on aligning positions and coordinating efforts to contain the impact of current tensions, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
Participants reviewed mechanisms to ensure that any measures taken in response to the crisis safeguard the interests of GCC member states and reinforce regional security and stability.
The summit comes amid heightened regional tensions linked to the ongoing U.S.-Israeli war with Iran, which has affected the regional security landscape, with Gulf countries, including Saudi Arabia, facing repeated drone and ballistic missile attacks since Feb. 28.
