New York, April 26 (SANA) UN Secretary-General António Guterres condemned armed attacks targeting military barracks and army positions in several parts of Mali.
According to Agence France-Presse, a UN spokesperson said Saturday that Guterres expressed “deep concern over reports of attacks at several locations across Mali,” stressing the need to strengthen international efforts to address escalating security threats.
He called for a coordinated international response to confront the growing threat of terrorism in the Sahel region, while emphasizing the urgency of meeting humanitarian needs among affected populations.
The Malian army said it had repelled armed attacks targeting multiple military positions across the country.
