Qatar, Netherlands discuss U.S.-Iran ceasefire, de-escalation efforts

Doha, April 19 (SANA) Qatari Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani discussed regional developments in a phone call on Sunday with his Dutch counterpart, Tom Berendsen, focusing on a ceasefire between the United States and Iran and ongoing efforts to reduce tensions.

The Qatari minister stressed the need for all parties to respond to ongoing mediation efforts, emphasizing that dialogue remains the only path to addressing the roots of the crisis and reaching a sustainable agreement that ends escalation and prevents its recurrence, according to the Qatar News Agency (QNA).

The two sides also reviewed bilateral relations and ways to enhance cooperation across various fields.

Qatar is working with international partners to bridge differences and return to negotiations, aiming to secure a long-term de-escalation that addresses regional security issues and the nuclear file, while safeguarding global energy supplies and maritime routes from the impact of the conflict.
