Paris, April 14 (SANA) French President, Emmanuel Macron, called on US President Donald Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to resume negotiations and avoid further escalation.

In a post on X on Tuesday, Macron said he held talks with both leaders on Monday, urging the resumption of negotiations that had stalled in Islamabad, the clarification of misunderstandings, and the avoidance of new rounds of escalation. He stressed the need for full respect of the ceasefire, including in Lebanon.

Earlier, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Monday that the ceasefire between the United States and Iran remains in place, while efforts continue to reach an agreement following stalled talks in Islamabad at the beginning of the week.
