Beijing, April 14 (SANA) Spanish Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, stressed on Tuesday the need to respect international legitimacy, noting that Israel is the biggest violator of it.
According to Agence France-Presse, Sánchez told reporters at the end of talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing that the discussions included “reforming” the international system to make it “more inclusive, more representative, and more democratic,” so that it better reflects the multipolar reality of today’s world.
Regarding the U.S.-Israeli-Iranian war, Sánchez explained that “the majority of Spaniards do not want war and also want no impunity, and that crimes should not go unpunished—such as the acts of genocide we see being committed in Gaza, which we hope will not be repeated in Lebanon.”
The Spanish Prime Minister noted that China can play an important role in resolving the conflict in the Middle East, saying that “any efforts that can be made, especially by countries capable of dialogue and that have not been actively involved in this illegal war, are not only welcome but necessary.”
Sánchez, who is visiting Beijing for the fourth time in four years, expressed his desire for economic relations between the European Union and China to become “much more balanced.
