EU, Britain and Canada urge ‘swift ending’ of U.S-Iranian war

Rome, April 8 (SANA) France, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Britain, Canada, Denmark and the EU jointly called for a swift and last ending to U.S-Israeli-Iranian war.

AFP quoted leaders of the EU countries as saying in a statement that they encourage quick progress towards a substantive negotiated settlement to protect civilians, ensure regional security and avoid a global energy crisis.

They welcomed the two-week ceasefire reached between U.S. and Iran, adding that “The goal must now be to negotiate a swift and lasting ending to the war within the coming days”.

“We call upon all sides to implement the ceasefire, including Lebanon,” they said.

Earlier on Wednesday, U.S. President Donald Trump announced a two-week suspension of U.S. military strikes against Iran.
