Washington, 3 April (SANA) U.S. media outlets reported on Friday that a second American fighter jet went down in the Middle East.
A U.S. official said that “a second U.S. Air Force fighter jet has crashed in the Middle East today,” according to the AP.
The agency noted that it remains unclear whether the aircraft crashed or was shot down, and whether Iran was involved in the incident. The status of the crew and the exact location of the crash were also not immediately known.
The New York Times reported that the second aircraft went down on Friday.
Earlier in the day, U.S. media said American forces had rescued one of the two pilots of a fighter jet that went down inside Iranian territory, while search operations for the second pilot were still underway.
