Kuwait City, March 21 (SANA) The Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense announced on Saturday that its air defense systems successfully intercepted and destroyed a series of hostile missiles and drones within the country’s airspace over the past day.
Colonel Staff Saud Abdulaziz Al-Atwan, the official spokesperson for the Ministry, confirmed in a post on “X” that air defense units detected and engaged 9 hostile ballistic missiles entering Kuwaiti airspace within the last 24 hours. The spokesperson noted that all targets were neutralized without causing any material damage or casualties. Additionally, 4 hostile drones were identified and subsequently destroyed by the defense networks.
This latest escalation comes as Kuwait and several other Arab nations face persistent missile and drone strikes originating from Iran. These attacks, which have previously caused infrastructure damage and civilian casualties across the region, are unfolding amidst the broader military conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran that ignited in late February.
