Cairo, March 21 (SANA) The Arab League on Saturday condemned Israeli aggression targeting military infrastructure in southern Syria, saying it forms part of efforts to destabilize the country and undermine regional peace and security.
Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit said in a statement that the attacks represent a clear violation of Syria’s sovereignty and risk escalating tensions across the region.
He warned that such actions could draw the region into wider confrontations that serve Israeli interests by fueling conflict and instability.
Aboul Gheit renewed the Arab League’s call on the UN Security Council to take responsibility for halting repeated Israeli attacks on Syrian territory, ending incursions, and ensuring compliance with international law, and urged adherence to the 1974 Disengagement Agreement.
Israeli forces carried out aggression on military infrastructure in southern Syria on Friday, in what officials described as a continuation of repeated violations of the 1974 agreement.
