Beirut, March 17 (SANA) Three people were killed and several others, including five Lebanese soldiers, were injured in two Israeli airstrikes in Nabatieh province in southern Lebanon on Tuesday.

According to Lebanon’s National News Agency, an Israeli airstrike targeted the city of Bint Jbeil in the morning, resulting in three fatalities and multiple injuries.

In a statement on X, the Lebanese army said five soldiers were wounded, two of them seriously, in the Qaaqaaiya al-Jisr area of Nabatieh during an Israeli airstrike. The soldiers were traveling by car and motorcycle and were transferred to a hospital for treatment.

The escalation comes amid ongoing cross-border exchanges between Hezbollah militia and Israeli forces.

On Monday, Israeli forces began a ground operation in southern Lebanon along multiple axes, according to regional media reports.
