Abu Dhabi, March 9 (SANA) The UAE Ministry of Defense said early Monday that its air defense systems intercepted a barrage of ballistic missiles and drones launched by Iran toward several areas across the country.
The Emirates News Agency (WAM) said loud explosions heard in several locations were the result of successful interceptions of hostile targets by UAE air defenses. According to the Ministry of Defense, ground-based systems engaged the ballistic missiles, while fighter jets intercepted the drones.
In Fujairah, emergency crews extinguished a fire sparked by debris from one of the intercepted missiles. Authorities said the blaze was contained without any reported injuries. The attack comes amid rising Iranian strikes across the region, with missiles and drones increasingly targeting vital infrastructure and residential areas in several Arab countries
