Tehran, March 3 (SANA) Iran’s death toll from ongoing U.S.–Israeli strikes has risen to 787, as bombardments continued for a fourth consecutive day across multiple regions of the country.
Iranian media reported Tuesday that ten Israeli missiles hit targets in the Pardis and Damavand areas east of Tehran, while additional strikes hit Kermanshah in the west and Dezful in the south. A large explosion was also heard in Isfahan, alongside blasts in Shiraz in the south and Kangavar in the west.
The Israeli military earlier said it had destroyed the headquarters of Iran’s state broadcasting authority in Tehran, claiming the building had recently been used for military operations under the direction of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
In western Iran, five people were killed and 25 wounded in strikes on Hamadan, according to local officials. The Iranian army said 18 soldiers were killed in Mazandaran province in the north, while 13 others died in an attack on a military base in Kerman in the south. Five IRGC members were also killed in strikes on Dayr and Jam in Bushehr province.
Iranian authorities said the attacks, which began Saturday, have so far hit 131 cities, causing extensive damage to infrastructure.
U.S. Presidential Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff said Monday that Washington had been prepared to reach a “fair agreement” during the latest round of negotiations with Tehran, but that it had become clear such an agreement was no longer possible.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry denied receiving or rejecting any proposals during the recent talks in Geneva, calling the U.S. claims an attempt to justify the military campaign.
It said the current escalation was the result of the international community’s failure to respond to what it said were Israeli crimes over the past two years.
