Abu Dhabi, March 2 (SANA) United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed escalating military developments in the region during a phone call, the UAE state news agency WAM reported.
The two leaders reviewed the “serious security and military developments” and their impact on regional and international stability.
They called for an immediate halt to military escalation to prevent the conflict from widening and stressed the need to prioritize dialogue and political solutions, according to WAM.
The talks come as exchanges of strikes between Israel and the United States on one side and Iran on the other have intensified since Saturday. Iran has launched missiles and drones at Israel and several Gulf states, as well as Jordan and Iraq.
