Ankara, Jan. 21 (SANA) Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan spoke by phone with U.S. President Donald Trump Wednesday about recent developments in Syria.
According to a statement from the Turkish presidency, published by Anadolu Agency, the leaders discussed efforts to combat ISIS terrorists and the status of the group’s members detained in Syrian prisons.
Erdogan emphasized that a “prosperous, peaceful, and terrorism-free Syria” would contribute to regional stability, adding that Turkey is closely monitoring the situation and that Syria’s unity and territorial integrity remain a priority.
The two leaders had previously spoken on Monday, underscoring the importance of preserving Syria’s sovereignty and supporting initiatives aimed at stabilizing the country.
