Damascus, July 19 (SANA) Syria’s Ministry of Health on Sunday launched a campaign to provide more than 830 free specialized surgical procedures across five governorates, with support from Qatar Charity.
The campaign will cover Damascus, Aleppo, Homs, Hama and Idlib and will be implemented by the Syrian Relief and Development (SRD) organization.
The initiative will provide open-heart surgery, corrective surgery for children with congenital heart defects, cochlear implants and cataract surgery.
The campaign was launched at the University Cardiac Surgery Hospital in Damascus in the presence of Assistant Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Abir Qudsi and Qatar’s ambassador to Syria, Khalifa bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud.
