Damascus, July 8 (SANA) The final death toll from the twin terrorist blasts near the Ministry of Tourism building in Damascus on Tuesday stood at one dead and 36 injured, according to the Health Ministry.
The ministry’s press office told SANA that 31 of the injured sustained minor injuries and were discharged from hospital after receiving treatment. Five others remain hospitalized in stable condition and are receiving medical care.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Internal Security Forces said two explosive devices had been detected during field operations near the ministry building. Specialized units began procedures to defuse the devices, but both exploded while preparations for the operation were underway.
