Damascus, May 26 (SANA) The Syrian Development Fund announced Monday the delivery of new medical equipment to Damascus Hospital (Al-Mujtahid) and Ibn al-Nafis Hospital as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen healthcare services and support critical care units in Syria.
In a statement published on its X platform account, the fund said Damascus Hospital received a new infant incubator, while Ibn al-Nafis Hospital was supplied with a ventilator for patients requiring intensive and critical care.
The fund explained that the step came in response to urgent medical needs identified by the Syrian Ministry of Health, amid continuing shortages of essential medical equipment in several healthcare facilities.
It added that available in-kind donations had been directed toward helping cover part of the shortage and improving the readiness of hospitals to handle emergency and specialized cases.
According to the statement, the support, despite its limited scale, is expected to contribute to saving lives and sustaining healthcare services, particularly in neonatal and intensive care departments.
On May 18, the fund announced, in coordination with the relevant ministries, a plan to allocate the first tranche of $15 million in donations to sectors and regions considered most in need, as part of wider efforts aimed at supporting essential services and advancing recovery initiatives across Syria.
