Addis Ababa, May 23 (SANA)    The Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) warned on Saturday that the Ebola outbreak risks expanding to 10 African nations beyond the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda, where cases have already been confirmed.

“Ten countries are threatened by the spread of the virus,” Africa CDC Director Jean Kaseya said, according to AFP.
The countries at risk include South Sudan, Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, the Republic of Congo, Burundi, Angola, the Central African Republic and Zambia.

Earlier on Saturday, Ugandan health authorities reported three new Ebola infections amid the ongoing outbreak in neighboring DR Congo.

On Friday, the World Health Organization raised its risk assessment for the rare Bundibugyo strain of Ebola in DR Congo to “very high” at the national level, saying the spread in DR Congo and Uganda constitutes a public health emergency of international concern.
