Deir Ezzor, April 7 (SANA) – The Deir Ezzor Health Directorate held a coordination meeting Tuesday with representatives of UN organizations, international agencies and local community groups to improve healthcare services across the governorate.
During the meeting, participants reviewed the current health situation in Deir Ezzor, including updates on vaccination campaigns and the availability of medical services, as well as the governorate’s response strategy aimed at strengthening the healthcare sector.

Discussions emphasized the need to conduct accurate needs assessments to ensure services reach the most vulnerable areas, secure essential medical supplies, and improve access to healthcare in remote and underserved communities.
Participants also stressed the importance of coordinating efforts among health institutions and humanitarian organizations, while integrating the activities of international partners into the Syrian Ministry of Health’s strategic plan.
Director of Health in Deir Ezzor Dr. Nasr al-Alwan said the meeting aimed to strengthen cooperation among all actors in the health sector to ensure comprehensive and effective services for residents of the governorate, particularly in recently liberated villages.
He added that the discussions focused on unifying efforts within the ministry’s strategic framework to guarantee optimal access to healthcare services for citizens.
The meeting comes as part of ongoing efforts to coordinate humanitarian and health initiatives and improve the level of healthcare services in Deir Ezzor.
