Raqqa, Feb. 15 (SANA) Syrian Health Minister Musab al-Ali visited Saturday Raqqa and Deir Ezzor provinces as part of the government’s plan to assess conditions and rehabilitate the health sector in the Jazira region.
During the tour, al-Ali assessed hospitals and health centers and reviewed the main challenges affecting medical services, particularly shortages of staff, equipment and medicines.
In Raqqa, the minister met Governor Abdul Rahman Salama and local health officials to discuss urgent priorities and mechanisms to accelerate rehabilitation efforts. Discussions focused on restoring full operational capacity at medical facilities and improving the quality of services provided to residents.
In Deir Ezzor, al-Ali met Governor Ghassan al-Sayed Ahmed and Health Director Youssef al-Sattam to review conditions in recently liberated areas, where infrastructure damage has significantly impacted services. He stressed the ministry’s commitment to providing essential supplies and ensuring sustained coordination with local authorities to rebuild the sector.
The visit follows a similar tour of Hasakah province, including al-Shaddadi Hospital, as part of a coordinated national plan aimed at restoring healthcare services and improving access to medical care across the Jazira region.
