Latakia, SANA – The Anti-Narcotics Branch in Latakia has seized a significant quantity of narcotics and counterfeit currency as part of ongoing efforts by the Interior Ministry to combat drug trafficking and distribution.
According to the Ministry, the seized items included: 25,000 Captagon pills, 15,000 prescription pills with psychoactive effects, 60 kilograms of hashish, 20 million Syrian pounds in counterfeit banknotes.
Authorities confirmed that the main suspect has been arrested, with all seized materials confiscated in line with legal procedures. Investigations are continuing to expose the full network behind the operation.
The Anti-Narcotics Directorate reiterated its commitment to intensify efforts and pursue all measures necessary until society is fully safeguarded from the dangers of drugs and related crimes.
