Damascus, Aug. 3 (SANA) The Syrian Ministry of Education on Monday published the results of the 2026 General Secondary Education Certificate examinations for the scientific and literary streams, as well as the industrial, commercial and vocational branches, and the Sharia secondary certificate.
In a statement, the ministry said the total number of students who were registered for the examinations across all streams and branches reached 341,183.
A total of 201,369 students sat the scientific-stream examinations, with the pass rate standing at 65.3% among regular students and 47.5% among independent candidates.
In the literary stream, 115,046 students took the examinations. The pass rate was 68.2% among regular students and 48.8% among independent candidates.
The ministry added that 2,697 students sat the Sharia secondary examinations, with 69.3% of regular students passing. Meanwhile, 22,128 students took the vocational secondary examinations, where the pass rate among regular students stood at 39.4%.
The literary-stream examinations concluded on June 25, while the scientific-stream examinations ended on June 28. Examinations for the Sharia and vocational secondary certificates across all branches concluded on July 2 in Syria’s various provinces.
