Erbil, July 29 (SANA) Syria’s Minister of Education Mohammed Abdul Rahman Turko discussed with Iraqi Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on Wednesday expanding cooperation and exchanging expertise in the education sector ahead of the Fourth Kurdistan Education Forum in Erbil.
Turko said stronger cooperation between Syria’s Ministry of Education and the Kurdistan Region’s Ministry of Education would help advance educational programs, build institutional capacity and improve the quality of education, according to a ministry statement.
He also thanked the Kurdistan Regional Government for hosting Syrian students and providing them with access to education, praising its support for Syrian students over recent years. The meeting was attended by Kurdistan Region Education Minister Alan Hama Saeed.
Barzani said the Kurdistan Regional Government was ready to strengthen coordination with the Syrian government, particularly in education, to support bilateral ties and shared interests.
Turko is leading the Syrian delegation to the Fourth Kurdistan Education Forum, which is being held in Erbil on July 30 and 31 with the participation of education officials and experts from several countries.
