Homs, May 17 (SANA) Homs University on Sunday opened a scientific, cultural, and literary book fair at the Faculty of Science in collaboration with Al-Irshad Publishing House, aiming to encourage students to reconnect with printed books and broaden their academic and cultural horizons beyond digital media and social networks.

In a statement to SANA, University President Tarik Hossam al-Din said the fair forms part of the university’s ongoing efforts to promote reading, cultural awareness, and general knowledge among students. He added that similar initiatives would continue in cooperation with publishing houses in the future.

The nine-day event features a wide selection of scientific, cultural, social, and religious titles, as well as specialized academic books tailored to students’ academic needs. All books are being offered at affordable prices to encourage wider participation.

Students highlighted the diversity of the collection, saying the fair offers opportunities to explore multiple fields of knowledge and engage more deeply with printed academic resources.
