New regulations for Syrian truck transit through Jordanian territory

Damascus, SANA- The General Authority for Land and Sea Ports has announced the adoption of a set of regulatory amendments regarding the service fees for Syrian trucks transiting through Jordanian territory. These adjustments come as part of ongoing cooperation and coordination between Syria and Jordan.

According to a statement published by the authority on its Telegram channel, under the new regulations, fees will be levied on empty or loaded Syrian trucks and refrigerated vehicles transiting through Jordan (transit) or entering and exiting Jordanian free zones. The toll calculation formula is as follows:

(Truck gross weight in tons × distance traveled in kilometers × 2% in USD), with conversion to Jordanian dinars upon customs data processing.

Additionally, in an effort to facilitate transportation and trade exchange, the authority has decided to cancel the loading transfer fine for trucks arriving from Nasib Customs Center in Syria to Jaber Customs Center in Jordan, which was previously set at 200 Jordanian dinars.

The General Authority for Land and Maritime Ports emphasized that these measures aim to continuously streamline land transport and shipping between the two brotherly nations, supporting the smooth flow of mutual trade and services.
