Istanbul, April 7 (SANA) Syrian and Turkish officials held talks in Istanbul on Tuesday on strengthening economic and trade relations between the two countries.
The Syrian delegation, headed by Minister of Economy and Industry Nidal al-Shaar, met Turkish Trade Minister Omer Bolat and other economic officials to discuss ways to develop bilateral ties.
The delegation, which includes Central Bank Governor Abdulkader Husrieh, Director General of the Syrian Development Fund Safwat Raslan, and representatives from public and private sector institutions, arrived in Türkiye on Monday to participate in the first meeting of the Syrian-Turkish Joint Economic and Trade Committee (JETCO).
Discussions will focus on enhancing economic integration and opening new channels for cooperation in industry, trade, and investment to support economic growth and serve the interests of both countries.
The visit comes as part of broader government efforts to build strategic partnerships and strengthen institutional frameworks aimed at advancing Syrian-Turkish economic relations in the coming period.
