Damascus, April 5 (SANA) The Syrian Petroleum Company signed on Sunday an implementation contract with ADES Holding Company to develop a number of gas fields in Syria, as part of its strategy to increase gas output and enhance field development.

In a statement, the company said the agreement includes executing maintenance and development works on existing wells, in addition to drilling new exploratory wells within the agreed operational areas, while adopting modern technologies aimed at improving production efficiency and localizing technical expertise.

The company noted that a gradual growth in gas production is expected, reaching around 25 percent within the first six months, and rising further to up to 50 percent by the end of the year, supporting supply stability and reinforcing the sector’s contribution to the national economy.
