Tartous, May 20 (SANA) A cultural event in Tartous on Tuesday highlighted the heritage and artistic traditions of Raqqa province through a documentary screening and folkloric performances aimed at preserving Syria’s cultural diversity.
Held at the Arab Cultural Center in Tartous, the event featured a film documenting Raqqa’s history, traditional clothing and literary heritage, followed by performances by the Lamar Folk Band.
Organizers said the event was part of broader efforts to preserve Syrian folk heritage and promote cultural awareness among younger generations.
Safana Saado, head of the heritage department at the cultural center, said the activities reflect ongoing initiatives to strengthen the role of culture and the arts in society and showcase the historical legacy of Syrian provinces.
Members of the Lamar Band said their performances drew inspiration from Syrian traditions and Raqqa’s folkloric heritage, highlighting the diversity of the country’s cultural identity.
Audience members praised the event and called for more cultural initiatives focused on preserving Syrian heritage and connecting younger generations to the country’s historical roots.
