Homs, April 18 (SANA) The city of Homs is placing culture and heritage at the heart of the “Nisan Homs” festival, where the Ministry of Culture and the Homs Directorate of Culture are showcasing a wide range of historical and artistic exhibits alongside interactive community activities.
Centered on the theme of preserving identity, the ministry’s pavilion presents archival photographs, documents and publications that trace the city’s history, from its ancient gates and traditional markets to its religious and cultural landmarks. The display highlights Homs’ enduring role as a hub of cultural and historical significance.
The festival also brings heritage into a contemporary setting through activities designed for younger generations, including art workshops, educational games, and drawing and calligraphy competitions aimed at strengthening cultural awareness in an engaging format.
Organizers emphasized that the event seeks to reinforce the importance of safeguarding Homs’ tangible heritage, through manuscripts, traditional costumes, and historical materials, and ensuring its transmission to future generations.
Running until April 24 at Al-Arbaeen Mosque Square, the festival welcomes visitors daily and is organized by the “Arbaa Homs” team under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture and the Homs Governorate.
