Washington,Jan. 26 (SANA) Syrian voice actor Ibrahim Jalal has won the Voice Arts Awards in the Cartoon/Animation category, capping eight years of work in dubbing and voice performance.
Jalal, who could not attend the ceremony at the Beverly Hilton in Hollywood due to professional commitments, said the award recognizes his dedication and the complexity of his role as Orochi Maru in the anime series Naruto, which required intricate vocal layers and sustained effort.
The U.S.-based SOVAS Voice Arts Awards are the only global prize dedicated to voice acting, often compared in prestige to the Oscars in film and the Grammys in music.
Since 2016, Jalal has voiced documentaries for Abu Dhabi TV, Al Sharq TV, Quest Arabiya, and National Geographic Kids, as well as characters in series including Ertugrul, Orhan, and Prince of Tennis on Spacetoon. His performances are noted for their natural, authentic delivery in formal Arabic.
Jalal continues to work in dubbing and train emerging talent. Recent projects include a documentary on Thomas Jefferson, Artifact Hunters Series, and the Turkish drama Bahar.
Born in Damascus in 1994, Jalal holds a bachelor’s degree in Media from Damascus University and has recorded over 3,000 hours of documentary material, establishing him as one of Syria’s leading voices in the field.
