Tehran, SANA – Iranian Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani renewed his country’s continuous support to Syria in confronting the terrorist war it is facing, stressing that this support comes in the framework of Iran’s strategy to protect the resistance front and combat terrorism.
Shamkhani clarified in an interview published on Monday that the USA, besides other countries such as Saudi Arabia, works on distancing Syria from the resistance axis under the pretext of protecting the rights of the Syrian people, seeking to make decisions on behalf of the Syrians themselves in determining their future, which contradict the principles of democracy and the rights of nations to determine their future.
He pointed out to the strategic importance of victories achieved by the Syrian Army in Aleppo, saying that liberating Aleppo and cleaning the surrounding of Damascus of terrorism through military operations and local reconciliations is a witness of the co-strategy of Syria, Iran, Russia and the resistance front in confronting the propaganda alliances of the US front.
