Sculpture exhibition, musical concert at the opening of 2nd Tartous Summer Festival

Tartous, SANA – The 2nd Tartous Summer Festival kicked off with a sculpture exhibition and a musical performance by al-Fonoon Heritage House led by Ahmed Haddad.

Director of the National Theatre in Tartous Ali Ismael said that the festival, which lasts till 9th September, aims at activating the cultural and social movement and strengthening social fabric in the province via such amity meetings.

The exhibition showcased 12 sculptures including wood carving.

Student Mahmoud Ahmad, who played different pieces of music, said that the festival conveys a message to the whole world that terrorism will not undermine the Syrian students’ willingness and determination to continue their scientific attainment and safeguard the homeland.

Groups from Lattakia, Jableh, Tartous, Daraa and Sweida are taking part in the event and they will present artistic performances throughout the festival.
