Terrorist groups breach cessation of hostilities agreement four more times in last 24 hours

Lattakia, SANA-The cessation of hostilities agreement was breached by terrorist groups four times during the last 24 hours, the Russian coordination center said.

The Russian center, based in Hmeimim airbase, said in a statement Thursday that terrorists of the so-called Jaish al-Islam breached the agreement four times in Damascus countryside where they targeted with mortar rounds military positions in Jobar, Housh al-Khayat and Harasta.

The Russian and Syrian air forces did not conduct strikes against armed groups which announced joining the cessation of hostilities agreement, the center noted.

The Russian center pointed out that Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists continue attempts to foil the agreement, as they shelled several towns in Hama, Damascus, Quneitra and Aleppo.

The center pointed out that the Russian military delivered 10 tons of Humanitarian aid to the locals of two towns in Hama countryside, as they dropped UN humanitarian aid weighing more than 18 tones over the ISIS-besieged Deir Ezzor city, the Russian center said.

The cessation of hostilities agreement, which came into effect on 27 February 2016, does not cover ISIS, Jabhat al-Nusra and other groups designated as terrorist organizations by the UN Security Council. The breaches reached 677 since the agreement came into effect.
