Syria, Belarus to enhance industrial cooperation

Minsk, SANA- Protocol of the first meeting of the Syrian-Belarusian work group for following up the prospects of cooperation in industrial domain and strengthening economic and trade relations was signed by Assistant Minister of Industry Nidal Fallouh and Deputy Industry Minister of Belarus Dmitry Korchak .

A Syrian economic delegation, headed by Falouh, started on the 3rd of May a visit to Minsk where meetings were held with Belarusian officials over means to enhance economic and trade relations between the two countries and the contribution of the Belarusian companies to the reconstruction stage in Syria.

The Belarusian Deputy Industry Minister indicated the good mutual relations between the two countries and the importance of reviving and strengthening them, as well as deepening the cooperation for the interest of both peoples, stressing the importance of continuing work for following up the implementation of the signed protocol between the two countries in Minsk in 2015.

The Syrian delegation also participated in the International Industrial Forum 2016 which was held in Minsk
Korchak expressed his country’s readiness for cooperation in different fields, pointing out that there are thoughts for joint projects like that of Tractors which was enlisted in the protocol.

For his part Fallouh, indicated the importance of the talks held with a number of Belarusian officials, expressing hope for signing the protocol of the technical-industrial committee and the necessity of starting executive procedures to put the protocol into effect.

During the visit, the Syrian economic delegation met the Belarusian Industry Minister Vitaly Vovk, who affirmed readiness to provide full support for Syria to overcome the crisis.
