Prague, SANA – Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Fayssal Mikdad said that the “Riyadh opposition” delegation’s suspension of their participation in the Geneva talks is part of their “acrobatic moves” which proves their lack of seriousness in reaching a political solution for the crisis in Syria.
Upon his arrival at the Czech capital Prague on Wednesday, Mikdad told SANA’s correspondent that the Riyadh opposition delegation don’t make their own decisions, as they hold multiple allegiances, particularly to Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Qatar.
The Deputy Minister said that the Syrian Arab Republic delegation went to Geneva with a clear and realistic program for achieving success in talks and reaching specific results via consultations and dialogue among Syrians, not via talks between Syrians and other sides.
He said that his visit to Prague is a visit to an EU member state, and it will be followed by a visit to the Hague in the Netherlands to hold meetings with international organizations there, adding that he is optimistic regarding similar visits that will be conducted soon by Syrian delegations to other European states.
Mikdad’s visit, which will be concluded on Friday, will include talks with Czech political and economic figures.
