Damascus, SANA – Head of the Higher Judicial Committee for Elections, Judge Hisham al-Shaar, announced on Sunday that accepted candidates for the People’s Assembly elections can start campaigning on Monday.

In a press statement, al-Shaar said the sub-committees have finished studying the objection requests, admitted following a study of the legal status of candidacy applications.

The elections will be conducted under full judicial supervision to guarantee electoral integrity and freedom, al-Shaar added.
