Candidacy process for the people’s Assembly closed at 8 p.m. Wednesday, with total number of candidates at 11341

Damascus, SANA- Head of the Higher Judicial Committee for Elections (HJCE) Hisham al-Shaar announced on Wednesday that the committee held a meeting today and decided to close the process of candidacy for the 2nd legislative term of the people’s Assembly at 8 p.m. of Wednesday 2^nd March.

The committee has affirmed that the candidacy sub-committees will study the legality of the applications during 5 days in maximum as to start on March 3^rd, 2016 until March 7^th, 2016, then to announce the names of those who were accepted to run for the candidacy.

It added that any candidate has the right to object the decision of the committee during 3 days of the announcement of the names.

In a relevant context, The committee said the total number of the candidates reached at 11341 ones, distributed as the following: 988 in Damascus, 817 in Damascus countryside, Aleppo 1437, in Aleppo regions 1048, In Idleb 386, in Homs 1800, Hama 700, Lattakia 1653, Tartous 634, Deir Ezzor 311, Hasaka 546, Raqqa 197, Daraa 321, Sweida 263 and in Quneitra 240.
