3600 health packages distributed to displaced people of Yarmouk camp

Damascus, SANA – 3600 health packages were distributed to the displaced locals of Yarmouk Camp neighborhood on Tuesday.

Residents of the terrorist-besieged neighborhood, located in southern Damascus, were forced to flee their homes after terrorists from the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) entered the area with the help of Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organization in April 2015.

Most of those who left the neighborhood moved to the nearby towns of Yalda, Babila and Beit Sahm where the aid delivery took place.

The aid distribution was carried out by the General Authority for Palestine Arab Refugees (GAPAR) and the United Nations Relief and Worker Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA), under the auspices of the Syrian government and the Higher Relief Committee.

Delivery of health and food supplies will continue, stressed GAPAR Director General Ali Mustafa in a statement to SANA.

He noted that around 123782 food packages and 29780 health packages have been distributed to beneficiaries since January 2014.
