Moscow, SANA- Russia supports efforts of UN special envoy to Syria Staffan de Mistura to settle the crisis in Syria, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov said on Friday.

Russian TASS News Agency quoted Gatilov as saying “We stand by tranquilization in Syria … I believe that a positive atmosphere could be created to enhance the Syrian-Syrian settlement.”

He added that such agreements would increase opportunities and possibilities for making situation in Syria more stabilized.

Gatilov referred to a possibility to continue the tripartite negotiations among Russia, the US and the UN on Syria.
