Damascus, SANA- Retired Maj. Gen, Assistant vice president, Mohammad Nasif Khair Bek passed away after suffering from an incurable disease.
Syrian presidency mourned the late General Khair bek who died on Sunday June 28th 2015 after suffering from an incurable disease.
Khair Bek was born on April 10th 1937. He joined the Syrian Arab Army in 1961 and had served several security positions since March 8 1963, the last of which was the first assistant to the director of the General Intelligence Department from 1999 to 2005. In 2005, a decree was issued wherewith he was appointed an Assistant Vice President and remained in this position until he passed away.
