Damascus, SANA-Deputy Prime Minister for Services Affairs, Minister of Local Administration Omar Ghalawanji discussed on Tuesday with Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM) Sergio Piazzi the relief, humanitarian and refugees files in Syria and the aid offered by UN organizations.
“The Syrian government assumes the biggest burden in the relief and humanitarian issue, particularly in the fields of providing shelters for the refugees and offering them with educational and health services,” Ghalawanji, also Chairman of the higher relief committee, said during the meeting.
He added that the infiltration of terrorists into Idleb led to the departure of thousands of civilians from the city where they were provided with basic needs by the Syrian government in cooperation with the international organizations.
As for Yarmouk camp, Ghalawnji said the Syrian government has supported and helped deliver the relief and humanitarian aid into the camp as well as it secured the evacuation of difficult health cases into public hospitals.
For his part, Sergio Piazzi said the Assembly seeks to push dialogue and political solution in Syria forwards.
