Health minister meets top WHO official to discuss ways of strengthening its emergency response in Syria

Geneva, SANA- Minister of Health Dr.Musab al-Ali discussed with Dr. Michael Ryan, Executive Director of the WHO Health Emergencies Programme, ways to enhance the organization’s response to health emergencies in Syria and to expand the scope of support provided to address the current health challenges.

During the meeting held on the sidelines of the 78th session of the World Health Assembly in Geneva, both sides emphasized the importance of developing the technical and institutional infrastructure for rapid response in Syria, through supporting early warning systems, updating emergency protocols, and providing the necessary technical and logistical resources.

Minister al-Ali invited Dr. Ryan to visit Syria to observe the reality of the health sector and its field needs.
