Iraqi Foreign Minister affirms His Country’s Support for Syria’s Stability

Baghdad,SANA-Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein reiterated his country’s support for efforts to achieve stability in Syria and to fully lift the sanctions imposed on it.

The Iraqi News Agency (INA) quoted Hussein as saying on Thursday, in a speech during the preparatory meeting of foreign ministers for the Council of the League of Arab States in Baghdad, that Iraq affirms Syria’s territorial sovereignty and calls for preserving its stability.

Minister Hussein also calls on the international community to assume its responsibilities and stop the Zionist attacks on its territory.

He noted that the meeting came at a delicate stage requiring unified Arab efforts, and affirmed that Baghdad proposes the formation of an open-ended high ministerial committee composed of Iraq, Bahrain, the Arab League Secretariat, and all interested Arab countries to bridge gaps and resolve differences.
