CBS to finance imports of basic materials

Damascus, SANA- Governor of the Central Bank of Syria CBS Adeb Mayaleh said on Wednesday that the Bank will daily interfere to finance imports of basic and first materials, machines and production requirements in support of the national economy.

“We call on all economic activities to submit their requests to the licensed banks to fund all import licenses,” Mayaleh said at a meeting with representatives of industrial, trade and banking activities, affirming that it is possible to meet financing demands for the other imports to dry up the demand on foreign currency in the parallel market.

For their part, representatives of industrial, trade and banking activities were satisfied over the positive role of CBS during the crisis to keep the price of the Syrian Pound stable against foreign currencies.
