Moscow, SANA- Chief of General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Valery Gerasimov, stressed that unilateral Western economic measures imposed on Syria and the presence of terrorist organizations in several areas of Syria hinder stability in the country, referring to looting operations of Syrian natural resources in places where the US occupation forces are present.
Gerasimov, in a briefing he presented Thursday to foreign military attaches accredited in Russia regarding the results of the Ministry of Defense activities for the year 2023, described situation in Syria as “still difficult” because of those conditions and repercussions of the natural disaster of the earthquake that hit many areas in Syria last February.
Gerasimov said that in the northeast parts of the country and under the auspices of the United States, the illegal acts of plunder and sale of natural resources are going on.
