Provinces, SANA – The Syrian Arab Army continued carrying out counterterrorism operations across the country on Saturday, which have resulted in the death of scores of terrorists, including some from the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist organization.
Damascus Countryside
Army units destroyed two armored vehicles and eliminated many terrorists from the terrorist group known as Islam Army in operations near al-Huda Mosque in Douma area in Damascus Countryside.
Al-Habib al-Shaatani from Tunisia, Basel Jaara from Palestine, Jamil Sabra, Wafiq Sobhiye, and Mohammad al-Naasan were identified among the terrorists killed in that area, while activists from Douma reported that 36 terrorists were killed including Imad Abdelnafe’a, Taisir Raslan, Mohammad Badran, Mehiddin Beraqdar, Omar Hamza, and Abu Abda al-Sheikh.
Other army units clashed with terrorists from Islam Army in Aaliya farms north of Douma, resulting in the death of a number of terrorists and the destruction of a vehicle equipped with a heavy machineguns.
The army also carried out a surprise attack on terrorist concentrations on the road between Erbin and Madira, which resulted in the death of terrorists Mohammad Weld Khashiba from Libya, Majdi al-Derani, Salem Barghouth, Safwan Qasso, and Kassem al-Hariri.
In Jobar, an army unit eliminated many terrorists affiliated with the Islamic Union of Ajnad al-Cham terrorist group in a precision strike on one of their hideouts in the vicinity ofTibeh. Fahed Jeha, Rabe’a Khadrawi, Ibrahim Dahrouj, and Ahmad al-Bahra were mong the terrorists killed in this operation.
In Daraya, three terrorists were killed and around 28 more were injured in army operations that also resulted in destroying a cache of weapons and amo.
In the eastern part of al-Qalamoun area, army units destroyed terrorist hideouts along with the weapons and ammo inside them in al-Batra’a mountains and the surrounding farms in Jeroud area.
Daraa
Army units, in cooperation with popular defense groups, foiled an attack which terrorist launched from different directions against Qarfa town, 26 km north of central Daraa city, a military source told SANA.
It confirmed that the terrorists were forced out beyond the town’s surrounding after tens of them were killed and others were left wounded, with the army seizing the weapons and ammunition left behind.
In Ibta’ town, army units directed intensive hits against terrorist organizations’ gatherings in the east and the surrounding of the tow, leaving many terrorists dead and destroying their weapons and ammunition.
Terrorists’ dens in al-Sahara neighborhood in al-Mseifra town received severe hits, with many of them getting killed.
The military source described as “accurate” the operations which army units carried out against terrorists’ gatherings in the east of Dael town, which borders the towns of Ibta’ and al-Sheikh Miskeen, stressing that the operations left many terrorists dead.
More terrorists were killed and a number of their vehicles were destroyed in Namer village, north-east of Daraa.
An army unit clashed with terrorists in Deir al-Adas town, located near the border with Quneitra, leaving many of them killed.
In al-Lajat area, 75 km north of Daraa city, an army unit carried out a series of “successful” operations that resulted in destroying two vehicles in the east of al-Mismiyeh village, with many terrorists, including those on board the vehicles, getting killed.
North-east of Mzeirib town, which is located near the Jordanian border, the military operations resulted in the killing of many terrorists and destroying their weapons and heavy equipment.
In Daraa al-Balad in the city, units of the army continued operations against terrorists’ positions, killing a number of them in al-Karak neighborhood.
Other army units killed a number of terrorists and destroyed heavy vehicles they had been using along with those manning them in the town of al-Msaifra in Daraa’s eastern countryside, in addition to thwarting a terrorist group’s attempt to attack a military point east of Enkhel town, and eliminating a gathering of terrorists and several of their vehicles in al-Hirak town and west of Atman.
Homs
Army units carried out intensive operations against dens of terrorists belonging to Jabhat al-Nusra and the so-called al-Farouq Brigade and Homs Brigade in Um Sharshouh, Tal Abu al-Sanabel, Dahret Kafarnan, al-Ghajar-al-Sheikh Ibrahim road in the countryside of Homs.
A military source told SANA that the operations, which were carried out with the help of the popular defense groups, resulted in killing many terrorists, in addition to destroying equipment, weapons and ammunition which they were using.
A vehicle equipped with a heavy machine gun and a bulldozer, which had been used in setting up fortifications and digging tunnels and trenches, were among the destroyed equipment.
In the eastern countryside of Homs, the army, in cooperation with the popular defense groups, destroyed an armored vehicle equipped with a heavy machine gun and killed many terrorists in the villages of Masaada, Um Sharij, Unq al-Hawa, al-Dweibeh and Abo al-Alaya.
Deir Ezzor
Units of the army and armed forces on Saturday destroyed ISIS hideouts and weapons in al-Jafra and Howaijet Saker villages in the eastern province of Deir Ezzor.
During the last couple of months, ISIS terrorists committed brutal crimes against the people of al-Jafra village, which is located at the right bank of the Euphrates river.
A military source told SANA that an army unit, in cooperation with the popular defense units in the eastern region, dealt direct blows to ISIS gatherings in al-Jafra village, killing scores of them and destroying a number of heavy machineguns-equipped vehicles.
The source added that other army units seized weapons and ammunition of ISIS terrorists who fled due to the army’s blow.
Another army unit destroyed ISIS hideouts, vehicles and weapons, inflicting heavy losses upon them in personnel and equipment in the village of Howaijet Saker.
Quneitra
Army units thwarted an attack launched by Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists on Ayoubeh village and killed many of terrorist organizations’ members in the villages of Um Batina and Mas’hara in the countryside of the southern province.
In the surrounding of the main square in Quneitra city, an army unit clashed with terrorists and destroyed the heavy machinegun-equipped vehicles which the latter were using.
Idleb
Numbers of terrorists were killed in Abu al-Duhour, Kansafra, al-Hubeit, Khan Sheikhoun, al-Yaqoubiyeh and Nahla in the countrysdide of the northern province .
Lattakia
Army units destroyed a cache containing rocket shells and killed a number of terrorists in the villages of al-Farz, Wadi al-Sheikhan and Ghmam in the northern countryside of coastal province.
Hama
Units of the army and armed forces destroyed terrorists’ dens in Kafer Zeita, al- Latamineh, al-Sayyad, Eqeirbat, Jana al-Elbawi and al-Hardaneh in the countryside of the central province.
Terrorists also got killed in al-Jabrieh village which is located between Kafrnbouda and Karnaz towns 50 km northwest of Hama city, and in al-Hweijeh village in al-Ghab plain.
Hasaka
Units of the army and armed forces pounded dens and concentrations for ISIS terror organization in Hasaka southern countryside.
SANA reporter said army units destroyed weapons and ammunition for ISIS terrorists in al-Meilbieh and al-Khama’el villages 12 km south of Hasaka.
An army unit also destroyed a vehicle, killing two terrorists and wounding two others in al-Shura village in the southern countryside of Qamishli.
