Heavy rains expected over coastal, central and southern regions, snow on mountains

Damascus, SANA- Temperatures remain below average from 4 to 7 degrees as the country is affected by a polar low air pressure accompanied with a cold and wet air mass in all layers of the atmosphere.

Meteorology Department expected in its Friday bulletin that the weather will be cloudy to rainy over most areas, and the rainfalls expected to be heavy over the coastal, central and southern regions while snow will fall at altitudes above 1100 meters.

The wind will be westerly to southwesterly between light to moderate, while the sea waves will be low in amplitude.

The expected temperatures in some major Syria cities will be as follows: Damascus 9/1, Daraa 10/2, Homs 8/1, Tartous 14/6, Aleppo 9/0, Deir Ezzor 13/4.
