WHO delegation visits University Children Hospital in Damascus

Damascus, SANA- World Health Organization’s Regional Director for the Eastern Mediterranean, Dr. Ahmed al-Manzari and the representative of the World Health Organization in Syria, Dr. Akjemal Maktomova inspected the situation of the medical and treatment services provided in the central emergency department at the University Children Hospital in Damascus which has been rehabilitated and re-opened in cooperation between the two sides.

In a statement to journalists after a tour around the hospital departments, aL-Manzari said that this visit is the second for the WHO delegation to the hospital to get acquainted with the work situation in it after the rehabilitation process.

Al-Manzari stressed that the organization is interested in the aspects that fortifies and enhance the health system and enable it provide the best of health services to all those in need, adding that the organization will continue providing all required support to the Children Hospital.

For her part Dr. Akjemal affirmed that WHO cooperates with all health partners in Syria, including Health and High Education ministries which graduate doctors and health stuff through universities and health institutions.
